I really had no idea what I was getting into with this many DVDs, but it really was a good deal that I couldn't pass up. For DVD's that are my own personal favorites, I'll rip them in makeMKV, so I at least have the option to compress them at a later time if I choose. I did end up buying DVDFab DVD Ripper on sale, and that's been working well with decent speed, but more importantly, it saves the videos as smaller files (so no need to run them through handbreak). UPDATE: Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. I expect some quality loss, no problem.Īm I asking too much, or does something like this exist? Ideally, I'm looking for software that I can load the DVD, create a video file of the main movie in a reasonably sized format, and have it do that in less than 15 minutes. Then select Add UHD/Blu-ray/DVD and select your Blu-ray from the Add from CD-ROM menu: Check the Blu-ray title in Main Movie. Choose Blu-ray Ripper, UHD Ripper, or the Convert tab on the software’s main screen. I've been testing programs like DVDfab and EasyFab, which seem to do what I want, but they seem scammy or too expensive for what they do (and I don't mind paying for software, but I don't really trust either). Leawo is user-friendly in loading Blu-ray and DVD discs. I'm not really concerned about getting the original DVD quality, but I don't want extra steps/time to run them through handbreak either. With my previous collection (100 DVDs), I just used MakeMKV, but it's painfully slow, and the files are too big. I'm guessing at least 1500 DVDs, which I plan to rip to my NAS, so we can stream them at home. I purchased someone's DVD collection last night. I've already spent hours searching and test software, so. I'm asking as a last resort, since I expect I'll be sinking a ton of time into this once I begin.
